Producer's Notes

Upon opening the 2019 17K reveals primary red fruits and after half an hour or so the nose becomes much more resolved and interesting, showing its pedigree with bright dark cherries and blood plums along with raspberry notes. The wine has a warmth and deliciousness reflecting the riper nature of the vintage. The palate also reflects the ripe vintage with its sumptuous textural mid palate, finely polished core of tannins and lingering red fruit flavors. Give the wine a little time after opening for the fruits flavors to shine.

Wine Enthusiast: 96 Points

This needs a bit of decanting but quickly offers a heady nose of fresh berry, plum, black pepper and potpourri, with a signature terra-cotta streak. The palate is dense and concentrated, but the tightrope of lively acidity and fine but powerful clay-textured tannins still make for an enticing wine.

Wine Spectator: 92 Points

Shows a savory note of rosemary salt that graces the fleshy core of raspberry and cherry flavors. Reveals warm baking spice and touches of sarsaparilla that linger on the finish. Drink now through 2030. 1,000 cases made, 400 cases imported.
