Fresh and perfumed, with a marvellous raspberry and pomegranate fruit, plus an expressive floral note that almost recalls a Chambolle instead of a Morey. A lovely and accomplished wine that almost dances across the palate. 'Terribly seductive' in the words of winemaker Jacques Devauges. This wine is created with 50% young vines from the Clos des Lambray and 50% from Morey premiers crus including Les Riottes, Les Sorbés and Le Village. Vinified partially as whole clusters.

Dark and dense, this red reveals heavy blackberry, black cherry and blueberry fruit, along with oak spice and iron notes. Broad-shouldered, lively and supported by beefy tannins, yet hangs together nicely. Best from 2026 through 2043. 300 cases made, 130 cases imported.

A slightly riper and more deeply pitched aromas of plum, dark cherry and more prominent floral elements. There is both better volume and richness to the delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess impressive intensity on the dusty, youthfully austere and solidly long finale. This fine effort is sufficiently firm to repay mid to even longer-term cellaring.

A blend that includes the Clos des Lambrays's younger vines, along with grapes from the premiers crus of La Riotte, Clos Sorbet and Le Village, the 2020 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Loups reveals aromas of dark berry fruit, orange rind and rich spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and succulent, with powdery tannins and lively acids, it's a nicely balanced wine that shows promise.

The 2020 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Loups 1er Cru is a mix of the vineyard and vines younger than 20-years from Clos des Lambrays. Blended with 50% whole bunch, this has a clean, quite precise bouquet with brambly red fruit, chalk and light sous-bois/damps mossy scents. The palate is quite detailed with finer tannins than in recent years, resulting in a silkier texture and more cohesive, sensual finish. This is worth seeking out.
