(on the Chambolle side of the cru but on darker, redder subsoil): Palish red with a darker rim than most of the foregoing 2014s. Enticing nose melds sappy red cherry, pungent crushed-stone minerality, dusty spices and white pepper. Juicy and imploded but with nothing hard-edged about it. There's a supple quality here but also lovely cut and definition, and the finish firmed up with aeration. This will drink early and late. Incidentally, Stehly views this wine as "a more extreme form of his Chambolle-Musigny villages: it has more of everything." I like the wine's sweetness but suspect that the Clos Saint-Denis will offer more complexity in the long run.
