Unwinding in the glass with notes of orange rind, raspberries, blackberries, peonies and rose petals, the 2019 Fleurie Les Moriers is medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated, its deep core of fruit framed by powdery tannins and lively acids. While still supple and charming, this is the most structured of Hoppenot's Fleurie bottlings this year.
The 2019 Fleurie Les Moriers is much better on the nose than the Fleurie Indigene, displaying more cohesion and more fruit presence, featuring black plum mixed with strawberry. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red berry fruit laced with sea salt, fine backbone and a grippy finish. This is the Fleurie to go for apropos of Hoppenot.
