This is not your typical New Zealand Sauv Blanc. This wine is taken from a single vineyard that lies in the clay-rich rolling hills of the Southern Valleys which benefits from the coastal breezes and ample sunshine. Combine that with a little lees aging in seasoned oak barrels and you have a wine with lots of character, structure and complexity. The wine comes off a bit punchy at first but opens up to some tropical flavors like guava and passion fruit, along with key lime and mild green pepper.
