Aaron Pott continues to show his deservedly lauded skill in crafting outstanding Bordeaux inspired wines from some of Californias greatest vitricultural areas with Blackbird. Dissonance, so named for being an outlier in the otherwise red dominant lineup, is a bright Sauvignon Blanc that benefits from the honeycomb overtones and depth of texture provided by the addition of 16% Semillon. The 2021 vintage of Dissonance shows notes of mango, underripe peach, lemon custard, and orange blossom, backed by a dusting of honeycomb. This wine pairs well with a large assortment of Asian cuisine, from sashimi to Thai, but my go-to would be simple grilled chicken with lemon, friends, and a pool! - Dee Duff

The 2023 Dissonance shines with a beautiful, complex bouquet of lemon, lime, acacia flower, dried apricots, and a hint of Pecorino cheese. Pear and peach attack on the palate with good richness up front, impeccable balance, and bright acidity upon first sip. A long finish of pear and grapefruit complete this wine that is beautifully integrated from start to finish.”

Fascinating, layered wine blended from 58% sauvignon blanc and 42% semillon. Fermented in a combination of oak, steel and clay vessels, the wine tastes of citrus, minerals, light fresh herbs and wet stone. Zingy acidity keeps it lively.
