The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos St-Jean 1er Cru is taut and fresh with fine mineralité and tension. The palate is tightly-wound with nuanced tropical elements, fine acidity with a touch of sour lemon and stem ginger towards the finish. There is a lot going on in this Clos St.-Jean - a very fine and cerebral wine from Blain-Gagnard.

Burghound: 90 Points

This is also markedly floral in character with its aromas of citrus confit, white peach and a hint of spice. There is fine mid-palate density to the suave and succulent flavors that offer better persistence if not more refinement. This could use better depth, but more should develop with a few years of bottle aging.
