The Chambolle-Musigny Les Cabottes, picked over two tries through the vineyard, offers a mixture of red and black fruit, incense and light peony scents, just a faint tang of marmalade in the background. This feels very composed. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins, crisp acidity, taut and fresh with a very elegant and poised finish. Excellent.
An exuberantly fresh nose offers up aromas of various dark berries, violet and a whiff of spice. The lilting yet intense middle weight flavors possess a highly refined mouthfeel as well as evident minerality on the balanced and sneaky long finish. This lovely effort is very Chambollesque.
