Isidoro "Doro" Princic has been producing wine in the Colio region since 1952, and was one of the first vintners to champion the region. Today his son Sandro and grandson Carlo perform the heavy lifting, but the vision to produce mineral driven wines with a sense of place remains at the fore. The 2023 Malvasia is made from 100% Malvasia Istriana with a vine age of 20-30 years coming from the village of Pradis in the Colio DOC. The vines are hand harvested, and gently pressed in a horizontal press. Fermentation and ageing take place in stainless steel, with 7 months on fine lees. The resulting wine is an awesome blend of texture, aromatics, and salinity, with notes of peach, nectarines, meyer lemon, mint, and herbes de Provence.
