The nose is savory and umami, but balanced, with aromas of hot tar, black pepper, black plum and pomegranate. The palate stays balanced, as sweet and tart black plums stand up to more pepper, and a very tangy fruit element and vibrant, zippy acid enhance the already dynamic tension.
Intense ripe aromas of cooked blackberries, chocolate and toast. Firm tannins, crisp acidity and warming alcohol are well packed in a full-bodied wine with good fruit concentration. Nice, long, smoky aftertaste. Drink or hold.
