This sensuous sparkling stunner from Hammerling Wines in California is a hidden gem for fans of bubbles. It is an amalgamation of Chardonnay (50%), Pinot Noir (32%), and Pinot Meunier (18%) harvested from some of the top vineyards across California. This is the flagship wine of Hammerling and is named after and Allen Ginsberg poem written down the road from the winery in the 1950’s. You will experience fresh Meyer Lemon, Lime, and toasty notes of Brioche when you first taste, and the finish will stay with you until your next sip. Pair this with a summer afternoon and fried chicken and you will experience the serenity of the Sunflower. - JD Arredondo

50% Chardonnay, 32% Pinot Noir, 18% Pinot Meunier

The grapes were harvested between 18 and 20 brix, settled overnight and fermented in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak barrels. The wines were aged separately for 6 months in barrel before blending. The wine was then aged in bottle for an additional 16 months before disgorging by hand. 12.2% Alc./Vol. 1 g/l dosage.

This is our flagship sparkling blend made from grapes grown across California. The blend varies year to year depending on how harvest plays out. Sunflower Sutra comes from an Allen Ginsberg poem written down the road from our winery in the early 1950s. It seemed fitting to name our flagship urban winery blend after a little poem about human perseverance in the face of industrial blight.
