This Memorial Day, as we honor those service men and women who gave their lives for our country and gather with friends and family, I recommend drinking a wine from a storied winery, Hourglass the United States’ powerhouse region of Napa Valley. Their HG III Red Blend is a delicious wine made from Bordeaux Varieties with Merlot leading the way while accompanied by Petit Sirah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2022 HGIII is floral, lifted and quite attractive. Crushed flowers, red berries, white pepper and orange peel lend notable brightness. Much of this fruit is from vineyards in South Napa, surely an asset in 2022.
