The 2020 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru has a wonderful, well-defined bouquet with crushed rock and sous-bois percolating through the red berry fruit. The palate is very well balanced with sappy red fruit, white pepper, clove and light saline notes. Gentle grip on the finish but long and tender. This is a very classy Clos de Bèze. Superb.

The 2020 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru bursts from the glass with rich aromas of cherries, cassis, rich spices, loamy soil, rose petals and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, ample and velvety, it's fleshy and multidimensional, with lively acids, notable depth at the core and a long, resonant finish.

Mildly toasty aromas are comprised by notes of a beautiful array of spice elements, poached plum, cassis and floral hints that include rose petal and violet. There is a lovely sleekness to the intense, delicious and strikingly textured big-bodied flavors that are caressing yet powerful and muscular on the saline-inflected, very firm and gorgeously persistent finale. This is very classy and a wine that should easily repay 12 to 15 years of cellar time.
