A towering, statuesque wine, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is every bit as impressive as it has been on past tastings. In the glass, the 2016 is powerful, dense and explosive, with tremendous energy and sheer power. The dark, muscular intensity of Calistoga comes through loud and clear. As magnificent as it is today, I get the impression the 2016s might still be on the ascent!

The deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet) opens with pronounced cassis, cherries and plums with nuances of menthol, meat, earth and chocolate. Full-bodied and concentrated, it has a firm, grainy frame and a long minty finish
