A discreet if easily perceptible dollop of wood frames the fresh and bright aromas of essence of red currant, mineral reduction and anise. There is again a beguiling texture to the medium weight flavors that also brim with minerality on the equally chalky, youthfully austere and lingering finish that displays just a bit better depth. This very Chambollesque effort is one to look for as well.

The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras, which contains 50% whole cluster, has quite a tertiary, spicy nose, a touch of meat juice filtering through the red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly austere tannins that render this quite Morey-like in style, but still fresh and very focused on the finish. Excellent.
