The 2023 Gabbro, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, is shaping up to a gem. Aromatic, savory and bursting with varietal character, the 2023 has it all. The style is one of tension and focus, with less of the opulence proprietor Fabio Chiarelotto preferred in his early days. Then again, the Tuscan coast provides plenty of textural intensity of its own. Cool blue-toned fruits, lavender, licorice, spicebox and a kick of blood orange are all beautifully delineated. Gabbro remains one of the most distinctive wines in all of Italy.
