Here the nose is similar to that of the Bourgogne. The palate impression is rich, dense and powerful, and particularly so in the context of what is typical for the appellation, before concluding in a markedly dry and youthfully austere finale that is sneaky long. It's relatively rare that any of the wines denominated as 'Mâcon-Villages' need more than a year or so of keeping but this is that exception.
