The 2016 Ried Heiligenstein 1ÖTW opens with a very clear, pure and classic yet intense bouquet of lemon zest, confit and the flinty flavors of crushed rocks. On the palate, this is a complex, dense, piquant, finessed and mineral dry Riesling with the lingering salinity, fine grip and tension of the fabulous Heiligenstein terroir. This is another Riesling classic from the region that is lean and fresh and super stimulating. Very fine tannins here. Tasted as a sample in June/July 2017 at the domaine. Sourced from 20- to 35-year-old vines.
