To describe a wine it is always necessary to decipher the landscape of origin, then place it in the environment that generates it to appreciate its nature. Villa Donoratico is a decidedly consistent and complex wine and demonstrates a character deeply linked to its area of origin.
The wines are presented with sweetness combined with great structure, the acidities are somewhat marked for all the varieties and this makes the tasting of a vintage that immediately shows itself as an excellence very balanced.
Cabernet Sauvignon 40% Merlot 35% Cabernet Franc 20% Petit Verdot 5%
Fresh and fruity with herbs, such as basil and parsley, complementing the currants and berries. It’s medium-bodied with firm, silky tannins and a crisp finish. Drinkable now, but even better in 2023.
A combination of black currant and black cherry fruit and cedar and iron notes mingle in this supple red, which is balanced and juicy, with fine length. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Drink now.
