This dry pinot gris has a wonderfully ripe melon nose with a thread of floral honey running through it, but no hint of the opulence that’s so often associated with those aromas in Alsace. In fact, the wine has a gracefulness that is really delightful. Long finish with fantastic textural complexity. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold.

The 2022 Pinot Gris Les Caracoles is shy, advancing just gentle lemon overtones. The palate is surprisingly linear and imbued with a lovely coolness and a streamlined body with a little oaky smoke. The 2022 is unusually linear, cool and bone dry. It's most convincing with an inherent limestone coolness from this lieu-diet called Schneckentor at the foot of the Altenbourg - with deeper soils, so much more water retention and freshness here. Superb balance. (Bone-Dry)
