The 2018 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile de Vergelesses Blanc has picked up considerable additional tension since I tasted it from barrel. Exhibiting notes of pear, waxy citrus rind, white flowers and fresh pastry, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, energetic and saline.

The 2018 Pernand-Vergelesses Ile de Vergelesses 1er Cru Blanc has a taut, fresh, quite mineral-driven bouquet that delivers scents of chalk and lemon zest with aplomb. The palate is very well balanced with a fine thread of acidity, and what it lacks in length, it compensates with energy.
