The 2021 Angelita is a blend of 75% Tempranillo with Garnacha and other red varieties from Labastida in Rioja Alavesa. Aged for two years, with one year in foudres and the other in concrete vats, this wine presents a purple hue. The nose carries blood-like aromas, complemented by notes of sour cherry, ripe plums and wild herbs over a damp earth layer. On the palate, it is dry and fairly rich, featuring heightened acidity and fine-grained tannins that lead to a cleansing finish. Angelita is a chalky and enticing red from Labastida.
