Tasting note: This is aromatically similar to the Tremblots Haute Densité but with slightly less floral influence but more mineral reduction. On the palate there is superb intensity and delineation to the succulent but powerful, stony and linear finish that is even more tightly wound. This is a 'buy and forget you own it' wine that is an absolute knockout. If you can find a bottle or two, don't hesitate. Outstanding.

The 2021 Saint-Aubin Derrière Chez Edouard Haut Densité 1er Cru, from vines planted at 20,000 per hectare, has the most backward and austere nose of Lamy's whites at this stage. The palate is well-balanced with a malic entry and fine depth. Quite a "serious" Saint-Aubin that comes across more like a Puligny in style. Good length, if just a bit aloof at the moment.   93+
