The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Gist Ranch Estate is powerful, deep and fleshy, yet also retains a distinctly savory, mountain character. Red and purplish stone fruit, lavender, mint and spice are all generous in the glass. This relatively soft, fruit-driven Cabernet will be ready to deliver quite a bit of pleasure upon release

Blended with 8% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon offers terrific notes of cassis, crushed violets, hints of tobacco and graphite, medium to full-bodied richness, polished tannin and a good finish. It's a pretty, elegant, yet nicely textured beauty that excels on its purity and balance. While it’s terrific today, in a youthful sort of way, it should be at its best from 2020-2030.

This bottling, which includes 1% Cabernet Franc, offers bright and snappy aromas of red currant and black plum along with a bit of mocha cream. There is bright acidity and strong crushed rock minerality on the palate, which surrounds tart red fruit.
