Hundred Suns Gamay Noir 2025

We just received this new wine from Hundred Suns and it is the perfect wine as we slowly head into fall. This Gamay Noir is a new release from Hundred Suns and is fermented with native yeasts and done with 30% whole cluster. It is aged for about 11 months in terracotta amphora and french oak. The resulting wine is fresh and fruity while remaining serious in the glass. It has notes of dark cherries, pepper, and juicy acidity as well as some floral undertones. This goes with a lot of cuisines, but I like it with Coq a Vin.

Anselmo Mendes Alvarinho Vinho Verde 2025

Known as the “Mr. Alvarinho,” Anselmo Mendes has spent more than three decades championing Portugal’s iconic white grape. Born in Monção, Mendes started his own project in 1998 and has since become one of the region’s most respected producers. Monção e Melgaço, the birthplace of Alvarinho, is defined by granite soils and Atlantic influence, giving the wines remarkable freshness, minerality, and concentration. The 2025 vintage bursts with lime, grapefruit, and white peach, followed by intriguing notes of subtle white pepper and black tea. Bright, saline, and seriously refreshing… An Alvarinho with as much personality as the man who put it on the map.
