New Riff

New Riff Distilling opened in 2014 in Newport, Kentucky, just across the river from Cincinnati, with a clear mission: produce traditional Kentucky whiskey with a modern commitment to transparency and quality. From the beginning, the distillery built its identity around time-honored standards, most notably by releasing its flagship bourbons and ryes as Bottled-in-Bond.

The Bottled-in-Bond designation, established by the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, requires a whiskey to be the product of one distillation season, aged for at least four years, and bottled at 100 proof under the supervision of the U.S. government. By committing to these standards from day one, New Riff positioned itself firmly within the classic Kentucky whiskey tradition while maintaining full control over its production.

Everything is distilled on-site using carefully selected mash bills and aged in new charred oak barrels in Northern Kentucky’s fluctuating climate. The distillery’s focus on patience, consistency, and transparency has earned New Riff a strong following among both bartenders and collectors.

Today, New Riff’s bourbons and ryes represent a thoughtful balance between heritage and modern craft, offering whiskey that respects Kentucky tradition while carving out a distinct identity of its own.
