Producer's Notes

Italicus is lightly citrusy on the nose with hints of rose and lavender. On the palate, fresh tones of ripe citrus fruits are balanced with a light bitter and floral spice before giving way to a complex and lond lasting finish. To enhance the delicate flavours of the botanicals, Italicus is best enjoyed 50/50 with Prosecco over ice and garnished with three green olives to balance the floral aromas with a touch of saltiness.
Description

Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto is a modern Italian liqueur inspired by the historic rosolio, a style of floral and citrus liqueur that was once enjoyed throughout Italy as an aperitivo. Created by Giuseppe Gallo and produced in Turin, Italicus is built around Calabrian bergamot, complemented by cedro lemon and a carefully selected blend of botanicals including chamomile, lavender, gentian, lemon balm, and yellow roses.

The palate is bright and delicately aromatic, offering layers of bergamot zest, citrus blossom, honey, fresh herbs, and soft floral notes balanced by gentle bitterness and a clean, refreshing finish. Its restrained sweetness and vibrant citrus character make it both elegant and highly versatile.

Bottled at 20% ABV, Italicus is designed for aperitivo-style drinking and shines in a simple spritz with Prosecco, though it is equally at home in gin, vodka, and sparkling wine cocktails. It has quickly become a modern classic, reviving the traditional rosolio category with a fresh, contemporary interpretation.
