“The Morning Glory” is a Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky-style straight bourbon produced by Spirits of French Lick in Indiana, led by Master Distiller Alan Bishop.

This is a grain-driven bourbon built around an unconventional mashbill, combining corn, rye, malted barley, buckwheat, and toasted buckwheat (kasha). The use of both raw and toasted buckwheat is central to the whiskey’s identity, bringing a distinct nutty and savory character not found in traditional bourbon recipes.

As a bottled-in-bond release, it is aged at least 4 years and bottled at 100 proof, meeting the strict standards of the designation.

Single barrel selections can vary, with some released at higher proof, but all emphasize the same core profile shaped by the kasha component.

In the glass, the focus leans toward toasted grain, nutty depth, and baking spice, layered with subtle sweetness—more reminiscent of roasted cereals, honey, and spiced baked goods than a classic caramel-forward bourbon.
