Veyder-Malberg "Liebedich" Gruner Veltliner Wachau 2024
Veyder Malberg wines are highly sought after and we were lucky to get a wonderful allocation this year. The term "Liebedich" is an Austrian term of endearment that translates to love you. This is their signature blend, as they take the grapes from multiple of their steep vineyard sites. Everything is hand harvested and native yeast is used. The wine is aged on the lees in stainless steel as well as old oak barrels. This is a super approachable and refreshing wine with notes of crisp green apple, pear and some herbal aromas as well. It is vibrant and taut with wonderful minerality and staying power. Enjoy with grilled Bratwurst or a green bean salad.

Mac Forbes Syrah Yarra Valley 2023
Mac Forbes has spent the last 22 years refining his farming and winemaking practices to best showcase the unique terroir of the Yarra Valley. Those years of constant revision have led him to his current practice of minimal intervention farming, with special care given to protect all of the beneficial life forms throughout the vineyard. The 2023 Yarra Valley Syrah, for which he purposfully omitted the Shiraz moniker, is fresh and brisk, with a reasonably low 12% ABV, medium body, and elevated acidity. Expect fresh red plum, cherry, violets, peppercorn, a touch of olive tapenade, and a hint of Christmas spice, with a layer of graphite throughout. Serve this with a slight chill, and pair with chicken, duck, or roast pork.
