Brian Newman’s Pick

Chateau Thivin, Beaujolais-Villages Rose  2024, Beaujolais, France

A classic producer making Cru Beaujolais since 1743. Now in there 5th and 6th Family Generations since purchasing there current property in 1877. This wine is a great addition to your start of your spring in D. Made from 100% Gamay from 50 year old vines on granite soils. The wine exhibits fruit character such as strawberry and raspberry with underlying minerality and a fresh finish similar to a provence style rose. It should pair well with your picnic of soft cheese and charcuterie.

Zack Whitaker’s Pick

Le Macchiole Bolgheri Rosso 2023, Tuscany, Italy

Le Macchiole was founded in the early 80's by Eugenio Campolmi and Cinzia Merli in Bolgheri, the best area for Bordeaux-blend Super Tuscan wines. First bottled in 2004, their Bolgheri Rosso is the purest and most unadulterated expression of Bolgheri for Le Macchiole. It is also the only red wine in their lineup that is a blend of multiple varieties. The blend is made from 50% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Syrah. You'll find notes of Blackberry, Black Cherry, Cedar, and a hint of Fresh Herbs, with velvety tannins and a freshness that compliments its complexity. Enjoy with ribs, bolognese, or a full flavor cheese board.
