Fuenteseca Tequila 9 Year Extra Añejo 2003 is an extraordinarily mature agave spirit from Enrique Fonseca’s celebrated Fuenteseca project, a series dedicated to extended aging and showcasing how tequila evolves over long periods in barrel. Distilled from blue Weber agave and aged for nine years, this release pushes far beyond traditional extra añejo territory while still preserving remarkable agave character.

The nose is deeply layered with aromas of cooked agave, dried fig, orange peel, dark caramel, tobacco, leather, cocoa, roasted nuts, and old oak. On the palate, the texture is rich and expansive, balancing mature barrel notes of vanilla, spice, espresso, and dark chocolate against earthy agave sweetness and a lingering mineral backbone. Despite its age, it retains freshness and structure rather than becoming overly woody or heavy.

This is a contemplative sipping tequila that will resonate with fans of very old Cognac, Armagnac, or long-aged whisky, while offering a distinctly agave-driven identity that sets it apart from other aged spirits.
