Chateau de Pellehaut Armagnac 2000 is a vintage Bas-Armagnac from one of Gascony’s most consistent family estates, offering a beautifully balanced snapshot of long-aged Armagnac without becoming overly woody or austere. The Béraut family has farmed at Pellehaut for generations, and their Armagnacs tend to emphasize purity of fruit, freshness, and approachability alongside traditional depth.

Distilled from estate-grown grapes and aged slowly in French oak, the 2000 vintage shows a mature but still lively profile. The nose opens with dried apricot, orange peel, toasted almond, honey, vanilla, and baking spice, alongside more earthy notes of tobacco leaf, leather, and polished oak. On the palate, it’s supple and rounded with flavors of fig, caramelized orchard fruit, roasted nuts, cocoa, and gentle rancio character developing through the finish.

Compared to some denser, heavier old Armagnacs, Pellehaut’s style stays brighter and more lifted, making it especially easy to drink while still offering plenty of complexity. The oak is integrated rather than dominant, allowing the fruit and spice to remain front and center.
