Lemorton Domfrontais Calvados 1999 is a beautifully mature vintage Calvados from one of the benchmark traditional producers in Normandy. The Lemorton family is celebrated for preserving the historic character of Domfrontais Calvados through estate-grown fruit, natural cider fermentation, careful distillation, and long, patient aging in oak casks.

Produced from a blend of apples and a substantial proportion of pears, as required in the Domfrontais appellation, the 1999 vintage has developed remarkable depth while retaining the lifted floral character that makes the region so distinctive. The nose unfolds with baked pear, roasted apple, honey, dried apricot, walnut, spice cake, vanilla, and earthy cellar notes layered with subtle oxidative complexity. On the palate, it is rich yet graceful with flavors of caramelized orchard fruit, toasted almond, orange peel, leather, tea spice, and polished oak carried by vibrant acidity and a long, savory finish.

The extended aging allows the spirit to gain profound texture and complexity without losing its orchard-driven identity. The pear component continues to bring freshness and aromatic elegance even after decades in cask, giving the spirit both richness and remarkable lift.

This is a contemplative, old-world Calvados that rewards slow sipping and appeals especially to lovers of mature Cognac, Armagnac, and traditional European eau-de-vie.
