Marolo Grappa di Barolo is one of the flagship expressions from the celebrated Piedmont distillery founded by Paolo Marolo, distilled from the pomace of Nebbiolo grapes used in Barolo production. Long regarded as one of Italy’s benchmark grappa houses, Marolo is known for treating grappa with the same level of precision and respect traditionally reserved for fine wine.

Distilled in small bain-marie stills, this grappa captures Nebbiolo’s unmistakable aromatic profile and structure. The nose opens with dried rose petals, red cherry, orange peel, tobacco, tea leaf, and alpine herbs layered alongside subtle spice. On the palate, it is powerful yet refined, offering flavors of dark berry fruit, licorice, toasted almond, earthy herbs, and pepper carried by a textured, warming finish.

Unlike rougher, industrial styles of grappa, Marolo’s expression emphasizes purity, balance, and varietal character while still embracing the traditional soul of the spirit.
