Alma del Jaguar Tequila barricas Series Anejo Mizunara Oak (750ml)

This is a limited-production tequila aged exclusively in toasted virgin Japanese Mizunara oak, an exceptionally rare and notoriously difficult wood to cooper. Part of Alma del Jaguar’s Barricas Series, the expression explores the distinctive influence of unusual woods and casks while keeping cooked agave at the center of the profile.

Produced at the Feliciano Vivanco distillery (NOM 1414) in Arandas, Jalisco, Alma del Jaguar works with 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the highlands of Los Altos. The tequila is traditionally cooked in brick ovens, extracted by roller mill, naturally fermented in open wooden vats, and double distilled in copper pot stills.

Bottled at 44% ABV, the Mizunara expression combines the sweetness of cooked agave with the highly aromatic character of Japanese oak. Expect layers of sandalwood, toasted coconut, honey, tea and warm spice, along with the distinctive incense-like aromatics associated with Mizunara. The result is a richly aromatic Añejo that balances mature oak character with the underlying sweetness and earthiness of agave.
