Rey Campero Mezcal Fusion Criolla (750ml)

Produced by maestro mezcalero Vicente Sánchez Parada in Candelaria Yegolé, Zoquitlán, Oaxaca, Fusión Criolla is an artisanal mezcal from the Sánchez family, whose mezcal-making tradition in the region dates to 1890.

The agave is cooked in a traditional conical earthen oven before being milled with a stone tahona. Fermentation takes place in pine and sabino wood vats with ambient yeasts, followed by two distillations in copper stills. Like the family's other mezcals, the spirit rests for at least three months in glass before bottling.

Fusión Criolla is distinguished by the family's proprietary recipe, which gives the mezcal a distinctive aromatic and savory profile. The producer describes notes of cinnamon and dried fruit on the nose, followed by cacao, walnut, and ginger on the palate.
