Stillman's Sonder 10 Year American Single Malt Whiskey

Stillman's Sonder 10 Year American Single Malt Whiskey is a distinctive long-aged expression created by the Maas family and Dancing Goat Distillery from American single malt originally distilled at MGP in Indiana and matured in Wisconsin. The whiskey traces its origins to exploratory single-malt distillation runs at MGP; the Maas family acquired and curated these stocks as they matured, ultimately developing them into Stillman's Sonder.

Aged 10 years, the whiskey underwent an extensive 18-month process of evaluation and refinement, including three rounds of selection, blending, re-barreling, and finishing. The final blend incorporates whiskey matured or finished across several types of wood, including virgin oak at varying toast and char levels, ex-Bourbon barrels, Wisconsin brandy barrels, Cognac casks, and Calvados casks. It is bottled at 96.4 proof (48.2% ABV).

The profile is fruit-forward and layered, opening with integrated oak, nutmeg and allspice alongside stewed peach and baked pear. The palate is soft and gradually developing, bringing caramel apple, vanilla bean, light brown sugar and custard-like richness, while fresh apple and spiced pear emerge toward the finish. Chai-like spice, toasted black pepper and lingering caramel provide a warm, persistent close.
