While Cakebread Cellars built its reputation in Napa Valley, the Bezel project looks beyond it, focusing on vineyard-driven wines from other standout regions across California. For this Chardonnay, the team works with select sites along the San Luis Obispo Coast, where cooling ocean influence helps preserve freshness and structure.

The 2023 reflects a steady, moderate growing season, allowing the fruit to ripen evenly while holding onto its natural acidity. Aromatically, it leans bright and lifted—Meyer lemon, white peach, and a subtle floral edge. On the palate, there’s a nice balance between crisp acidity and a touch of roundness, with notes of pear and a light hint of oak.
