Producer's Notes

The Bohan-Dillon Pinot Noir is an homage to the great village wines of France: a wine full of place and personality, made with the same care and attention as the top wines, yet at a good price. Our only non-estate wine, it brings together fruit from the Hirsch, Hellenthal and Heintz vineyards. All three of these family-owned vineyards produce wines of character and personality, and together they result in a wine of great integrity and complexity.

Decanter Magazine

The label depicts our cat, Bobes (Czech for Bob), who was bitten twice by a rattlesnake in 2006 and survived. In honor of this feat of survival, we put him on the label that year, and there he has remained ever since. Sadly, he has since passed on, but we love him still.

The 2024 Bohan-Dillon is a charming, exuberant wine with lots of personality and character. It opens with a bouquet of cherries, ripe strawberries and cassis. With air, notes of plum skin, wet stone and redwood forest emerge. On the palate, it’s juicy and mouthwatering, with an easy, irresistible drinkability.', 'This is so crunchy and refined, with beautiful fresh strawberry, orange peel, citrus, flint and slate aromas. Medium-bodied, crisp and clean, with just a hint of tannin at the end. A blend of three vineyards: Hirsh 43%, Hellenthal 22% and Heitz 35%. What a gorgeous pinot. It blends two coastal sites—Hirsch and Hellenthal—and an inland vineyard, Heintz. As a result, you get a wine that expresses both regions' characteristics. The 2023 vintage shows a light ruby colour in the glass that matches the wine aromatics, leading into elegantly effortless notes of juicy red berries, soft, sweet florals, and a whisper of coastal herbs—nothing overpowers. On the palate, a touch of minerality meets tart cranberries and fresh raspberries, all lifted by well-integrated, mouthwatering acidity.
