Sokol Blosser Bluebird Cuvee Willamette Valley Brut NV (750ml)

A proprietary assemblage of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Muscat. En tirage for 12 months with 5 g/l dosage. The aromas are bright, with notes of strawberry, pineapple, kiwi and papaya. Bone-dry tropical-fruit flavors follow with plenty of acidic verve behind them. The aromas and flavors show ripe fruit; the acid behind them more than pulls it off.

The label showcases Sokol Blosser’s long-time support of the Prescott Western Bluebird Recovery Project, with an image of a Western Bluebird. For more than 20 years, Sokol Blosser has offered needed shelter and support to preserve a breeding habitat for Western Bluebirds, with 15 bird houses on its organically-farmed property.

Susan Sokol and Bill Blosser planted their first vines in the Dundee Hills AVA (American Viticultural Area) of the Willamette Valley in 1971. Back then they needed all of their youthful self-confidence, energy and determination to make their way because, at the time, there was no wine industry in Oregon. Today, with over 900 wineries and more than 37,000 acres of planted vineyards, Oregon has grown exponentially and its wines are available throughout the world. Sokol Blosser has survived, grown and prospered as a family-owned and run operation, now run by Alex Sokol Blosser.

The Evolution line was introduced in 1998 with the Lucky No. 9 White Blend, developing the niche white blend category. The Pinot Noir and other reds came a little later and the rest is history.
