This wine hails from a single vineyard planted in the early 1940s below the Clos des Carmes, where sandy-clay soils over a soft limestone bedrock impart distinctive character. Aged for 11–12 months in used barrels and filtered, this wine offers a layered bouquet of crushed limestone, white peach, citrus zest, and subtle lanolin, while its palate reveals vibrant notes of Meyer lemon, green apple, and pear, all anchored by a precise, chalky finish. This is a wine of structure and elegance, built to age but stunningly expressive in its youth.
