Isle of Harris Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)

The Hearach is the first single malt Scotch whisky produced by the Isle of Harris Distillery, located in the Outer Hebrides off Scotland's northwest coast. Founded in 2015, the distillery was established with a commitment to supporting the island's small community, creating sustainable local employment, and producing spirits that reflect the character of Harris and its maritime surroundings.

Named after the Scottish Gaelic word for a native of Harris, The Hearach is made using 100% Scottish barley and soft island water. The whisky is distilled in copper pot stills, gently peated to approximately 12–15 ppm, and matured for a minimum of five years in a combination of first-fill bourbon, oloroso sherry, and fino sherry casks. Bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV), it is non-chill filtered and presented without artificial coloring.

The nose opens with fresh orchard fruit, honey, vanilla, and a gentle coastal smokiness, accompanied by hints of citrus and toasted oak. On the palate, notes of baked apple, malted barley, caramel, and warm baking spices are balanced by subtle peat smoke and a delicate maritime salinity. The finish is smooth and lingering, with soft smoke, sweet malt, and a touch of sea salt.

The Hearach offers an approachable introduction to lightly peated Scotch whisky while retaining the complexity and coastal character associated with Scotland's island malts. Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water.
